These eight options are a good place to start if you’re looking for agriculture podcasts. You and your farm or ranch operation may benefit from the knowledge you can gain by learning as you work.

1. Young Farmers Podcast

The Young Farmers Podcast is a hub for current information affecting new and veteran farmers alike. Produced by the National Young Farmers Coalition, this podcast focuses on agricultural policy and politics. 

They cover critical issues impacting the future of farming, such as land access, climate change, racial equity, water, government access and accountability. An ongoing series covers the impact of the 2023 Farm Bill.

2. Girls Talk Ag

Three women — a farmer/blogger, an agriculture digital media consultant and an agronomist — blend their experiences and personalities to talk honestly about ag topics, including GMOs, social media in ag and mom moments in the Girls Talk Ag podcast. They advocate for responsible farming practices with a light-hearted twist.

3. The Working Ranch Radio Show

The Working Ranch Radio Show is a ranching podcast by Working Ranch Magazine that shares the stories of actual farmers and ranchers “living at the end of dirt roads.” Host Justin Mills is a fourth-generation Wyoming cowboy and rancher who runs his cattle and sheep ranch with his wife and five children.

He discusses the latest news in the cattle industry and how it affects real people. Interviews with industry experts add nuance and perspective to this weekly podcast. And if podcasts aren’t your thing, you can listen to a show on Rural Radio on Sirius XM channel 147 on Saturdays and Sundays at noon Eastern.

4. Deep Roots Radio

Deep Roots Radio is a podcast that features live interviews with ranchers, farmers, scientists, educators, filmmakers, policymakers, marketers, chefs and authors. These conversations connect the dots between what we eat and how it’s grown. 

Host Sylvia Burgos Toftness provides an interesting perspective as a New York City girl-turned-beef farmer. She discusses the links between soil health and nutrition, agricultural practice and financial sustainability and more. You can listen live online Saturdays at 9 am Central on WPCA 93.1 FM.

5. SharkFarmer

Host and agriculture influencer Rob Sharkey is a grain farmer and owner of a deer hunting outfitter who addresses controversial topics and shares his struggles as a farmer with SharkFarmer podcast listeners. His engaging interviews with farmers, agronomists and ag business owners reach almost a million listeners every week.

6. RealAg Radio

RealAg Radio’s host Shaun Haney covers the beef markets, agronomic issues, business issues farmers and ranchers face, the future of farming, soil health and more from a north-of-the-border perspective. You can also listen to his Rural Radio show on Sirius XM channel 147 Monday to Friday at 4:30 p.m. Eastern. 

7. BCI Cattle Chat

If you’re looking for a cattle podcast, check out BCI Cattle Chat. Produced by the Beef Cattle Institute at Kansas State University, this podcast promotes successful beef production. It addresses the most significant issues facing the cattle industry, including the Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) program.

8. Future of Agriculture

Host Tim Hammerich talks to farmers, innovators and investors about ag technology, sustainability and innovation in the weekly data-driven Future of Agriculture podcast.
